Paris and New York – 1 June 2009 - LTU technologies, PixPalace and TNS media intelligence partner to offer PixTrakk, the service for tracking photo publication in the printed press and on the web.  The service thus contributes to the respect of copyright and intellectual property in the photo industry.


In the current context of the growing number of distribution media, photographers and photo agencies are confronted more than ever with the problem of tracking the utilization of their content.  For agencies, at stake is identifying systematically the photos which have been downloaded and then used (whether declared or not), allowing agencies to save time in invoicing and in payment of remuneration to photographers.


TNS media intelligence, by its provision of digitized versions of printed publications and images captured on the web, LTU, thanks to its image recognition technology, and PixPalace, by the very nature of its service offer to agencies, have decided to combine their respective specialties in order to furnish to the photo industry this complete and innovative tracking of printed and web publications.
The service will provide the surveillance of almost 2500 publications.   As the activity of the press is shifting more and more toward the web, the service will also propose a monitoring of nearly 500 websites. 
Media clients may also use the service in order to optimize the production of photo publication statements and declarations. 
The service will be in private beta this summer and offered commercially by PixPalace starting in September 2009.
